Annoying Software

I downloaded my tax information from my brokerage and this program constantly wants me to review the information. Even after I do review the transactions it keeps telling me I need to review them again when there is nothing to change. It always makes it sound like there is an error when there isn't. Extremely annoying nagging about downloaded transactions needing attention.
Pros: Easy to import documents, Fast
Cons: Hard to prepare
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I have been using this product for many years. I had some new needs this year and found that they were already built in. They worked smoothly and I am very happy.

Will use them again despite severe problems

I’ve used them for years, but software problems this year prevented the state return portion from working. A very nice level 1 tech spent 3 hours working to fix this, but couldn’t. She filed a case for level 2 support. After two days not hearing back, I gave up, filed Fed, will file State by filling out paper forms.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

This is the tenth year using H&R Block Tax software. User interface seems less intuitive this year. Experience seemed choppy. I had to go back and find mortgage deduction page as well as some other deductions that had been part of the normal process in the past years. This could be due to tax changes and increase to standard deduction. When starting on the summary page for a tabbed section, the software makes the user go through the entire tab section instead of jumping back to the summary page.
Pros: Easy to prepare, Maximizes refund, Easy to import documents, Fast
I would recommend this to a friend!

A very east-to-follow "fill in the blanks" approach to tax filing. Guides you through the process, flags likely errors, and performs a number of quick-checks for omissions or errors.

Easy to use and to understand instructions

I use this brand every year and love it. There are a couple changes I would like to see, however .#1.When printing a tax return, I would like the option of printing multiple copies at once; #2. To be able to unclick forms I don't need to print. #3. Program does NOT give prompt to go to print State return from Fed e-file page, although it says it does.

Simplify itemize and more reports

1. If you know you can't itemize have option for standard deduction right away.
2. When trying to check numbers it would be nice to have spreadsheet like report of all 1099 B and 1099 R etc so don't have to go through every form.
