Reliable Way to Complete My Income Tax Returns

Happy that the program is consistent from year to year. But at some point, it should be modernized. And it should include calculations showing the effective tax rate and marginal tax rate.
Pros: Easy to prepare, Fast

Disappointed with lack of ease to navigate. Kept crashing when I would try do file anything.

Been trying for hours. What's the point of paying for e-filing if I can't e-file?? It also looks like the UI was last updated 20 years ago.
Cons: Time consuming

Verified Purchase:Yes
Had to override how many day I was a resident of NY. Program did not allow any other way to enter the needed number. Otherwise good enough for what was needed.

Itemized deductions

I entered three itemized items before I decided to use the standard deduction. AT the time of e-filing the software said I had an error because after I chose standard deduction I still had the three itemized left in the software, so I had to go back and remove each of the three form the program before I could file. Please fix before next year

Worthless Software

I've been a longtime user of H&R Block/TaxCut software. I'm trying to file my taxes by today's deadline and it's a confusing mess. First a series of "bad gateway" error messages. Then messages indicating I filed my federal return successfully even though the software still lists the status as not filed. Then an email saying the IRS has rejected my return and I need to correct the error, but the program still lists the status as not filed and there is no error to fix. Now when I open the software I see a message that acknowledges the e-filing problem and tells me to try again later or print and mail my return. What a joke. I paid for software to prepare and e-files my taxes and it doesn't even work. Never again!

Non functional and dangerous

In 2024, filing 2023 taxes, the product did not work due to errors in HR Block's servers, and I was unable to file my taxes e-file through the product.
Cons: Hard to import documents
