I could not file my federal return through the H&R Block pc tax program on 4/14/24. I tried dozens of times and kept getting errors. I checked my email and see a message from H&R Block saying my federal return was accepted by the IRS. It was as a total lie! Nothing went through! I had to spend more time and money printing 40 pages and taking them to the post office to mail! I have never had issues like this before. I will never buy H&R Block software again. I later saw in the news that thousands of people had issues due to problems at H&R Block on the night of tax deadline and on tax day! I am very dissatisfied that they did not correct the problem sooner and contact people having issues or put out a statement that night. Instead I got a false email stating my return went through when it did not go through. How do you trust this company after that?

There are limitations within the application - if you have multiple states that you have to file, there were manual entries you would have to make. At the end, the data verification would pull up very random things it would seem. It was alright.

Difficult to change from CD to download, largely due to having to connect to Internet, and fear of hacking. But now have confidence. This software is easy to navigate and save. Moving forward and back is quick and without errors or hangups. Could use a little more depth in the additional explanation areas. Lastly, when assessing validity of return near the end, it is difficult to follow when it jumps to show a specific area of an entire form. Perhaps more color coding, or bolding or ??? Would be helpful here, as well as additional explanation. As a retired accountant I would recommend H&R Block tax software over other products, and I have used a few.

Does a good job of the actual tax forms, but the efile process was glitchy -- appeared to fail, but I got emails confirming that it actually went through. And printing mailable copies for my state is more difficult than it should be.

I have used H & R Block many times before without a problem. This year, they had a major problem that wouldn’t allow me to file my taxes online—even though I had already paid for it. I ended up having to mail them to make sure I filed on time. Not sure I will use them again.
