Fine - can’t believe we’re still paying for this

I can’t believe we’re still paying to file our taxes. Ridiculous. The government knows how much we should owe. Hopefully the day will soon come when this basic software is obsolete.

Cons: Doesn't maximize refund, Hard to import documents

Easy to use. Still need to know IRS tax jargon.

I've used H&R for several years. Pleased with it but I have not used any others to compare it to. I was not pleased this year with having to use actual IRS forms and instructions to figure out a specific SS tax deduction. I believe the software should have had this included. But this was a one time item and won't be an issue next year.

This program covers most filing issues and obscure corner cases. There are a few things (such as pensions from foreign gov that do not have TIN numbers) that throw the software for a loop.
Support is minimal and problems with operation of the program or handling of specific tax issues are not addressed. It is not possible to contact HR software support.
