I like most everything about the software except the way it handled cost basis for donated stocks. I had one value over $5K and instead of requiring a cost basis during the interview it required to be filled in the form during final checks. This was confusing. Also, I don’t even know if it was necessary since the full value of donated stock is tax deductible.
Pros: Easy to import documents

I've used this product for over 10 years it is generally good. Could use improvements when multiple states are involved anything involving WI is troublesome but WI is a nightmare in general. Some quirky questions are not covered or gard to find info on.

I had to file Form 5329 which required an explanation for requesting a waiver of penaly. The program provided the Form but not a way to include the explanation so I would have been unable to efile. I decided to leave out the form and file it seprately. It seems it would be a simple fix to provide a blank page for the explanation.

I bought this for at least 10 seasons in a row and am still enjoying the easy tax season approach to filing. The only thing missing that would make the service complete again would be the addition of the electronic submission of the state returns. In previous years, 1 state filing was aloud electronically with 5 federal files. 2 State filing for each of the 5 free files would be excellent. Please consider.
