I have been using H&R Block software to do my taxes for years. However, now that I am older and have very little income, I am finding that I am spending more on the software and state filing fees than I am refunded. Because of this I plan to discontinue my standing software reorder and use the free file state and federal software for 2024. This could change if for some reason I came into a boat load of money in 2024 but that is unrealistic.
Pros: Easy to prepare, Fast

We have been using H & R Block software for years. For the most part we are quite happy with the program. It is relatively easy to use and seamlessly imports the previous year's tax information. The biggest sticking point is that for the past three years they have not included one of the AZ state tax credit forms, which forces us to mail hard copy tax returns into the State. The information can be input manually, but it doesn't generate the form that needs to be submitted with the tax return. Every year we complain, but nothing has changed.

I have been using the HR Block software for over 25 yrs ( before it was Tac Cut). However this time the PA State downloaded software did not figure there was a small penalty. However the state has forgiven as the first time happening.
