I gave used H&R's Fed and State tax preparation software for several years. It almost takes all of the drudgery work out of this annual task.
I feel like when done with this exercise and the error checking the software does is complete confident to submit to the IRS.

I've been using this software for about 10 years or more and it's very consistent and accurate. From year to year it's easy to import the prior year's data and save some time in preparing the current years tax return.

I purchased H& R tax plan last month and all went pretty good except my state tax, which is being held up this year. Last year I had to file my state tax via a paper return in October as the electronic package did not go thru 3 times???
Cons: Doesn't maximize refund

We filed fed and state, got our state return, had to pay fed. But the problem is the program keeps reminding us thru our email that we need to finish filing. The program even told us that the state and fed were accepted, but like I said it keeps telling us to finish filing thru our email.
