Experience with Block Tax Software was generally favorable, but here's what I believe needs attention: Block's. handling on the credit for Foreign Taxes Paid is too complex for tax withheld on entirely passive income from foreign stock, mutual fund/ETF income. This should have been much easier to enter, especially when paying the AMT.
With respect to California State tax software, CA allows miscellaneous deductions, and Block was not sufficiently clear. Not enough space to list allowable CA deductions. I was able to import 1099 info from Schwab but not from Wells Fargo Advisors. That's a shortcoming. I'd recommend but might use TurboTax next year.

I will be going back to turbo tax. The detail from last years filing did not update. The file process was awful. Had to mail tax return for the first time in many years
