I have been using Block tax software for many years, including last year. I had a tax-loss carryover from last year into this year; this year's software completely missed bringing the loss into this year. If I had forgotten about this, or if someone else did my taxes, I would have paid $5900 MORE in Federal taxes. And more for State taxes also. Final accuracy check? - useless.
Cons: Doesn't maximize refund
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
