I have used the software for years. This year was the easiest yet. However I was charged twice to file the state,also I had to use another computer and it should have been easier to import last years data. I will probably use block again next year for continuity

Cons: Hard to import documents

I have been using HRB for over 10 years. Two years ago, it put my RMD on my IRA and automatically put the same amount on my wife's RMD even thought she was not required to take RMD. It took 14 months and a lot of pains to get IRS to refund me. In the 2023 HRB, it did it again. I caught the error before I submitted the tax report. Also the HRB State showed a much higher tax than the CT-Online software which is free!!! Finally, on 4/14 to 4/15/2024, your server was down on the last 2024 tax deadline days. No excuse!!!
Cons: Time consuming, Doesn't maximize refund
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

You charge way too much for sending in the state forms. Previous institutions for dividends and the like should not be carried over to the new forms since they are imported each year or entered manually, carrying over old ones can create confusion. The same goes for Capital gains.
Cons: Time consuming, Hard to import documents

I bought this when it was first offered. The fed went fine but when I tried to submit my state return, after paying, that I needed a work form that I did not have and could not find in the software. I had to print and mail. Why? Isn't that what i"m paying for?
