I have used HR Block tax package for years and would certainly recommend it to everyone who does their own taxes. It is simple to use and asked for the appropriate information. That said, over the years I found two programing mistakes which were corrected quickly. As a trained accountant, I pretty much know the outcome of my tax preparation prior to starting which has helped in finding the two problems. I highly recommend HR Block to anyone who would ask me.

This was second year preparing my federal and state ( NJ) taxes using the H&R Block software. I found the user interface intuitive and easy to use. It doesn’t make it FUN, but I did get through the process without pulling any more hair out!

Program works but using e-file was a BIG mistake

Had no issue with the software. When it came to doing the e-file it crashed. Was unable to use the e-file and had to resort to using mail in. Don'tunderstand how this became messed up
Pros: Easy to prepare
Cons: Time consuming

I used it many years, Once I clicked a wrong button and made some already-entered deduction hidden, it was my problem, but it would be better if the system had some intelligence and remind me.
