I've used this product for many years and was a bit disappointed this year. I was delayed in filing my taxes for the first time ever due the software - specifically to a bug in the program and a delay in having the programming for one of the forms I needed being ready.
This was especially irritating as:
- the bug was not listed on their website, although it was admitted on a support call, and finally fixed 3 weeks later.
- The programming bug was regarding a form (1099-R for Inherited IRAs) that hadn't changed from the previous year.
- The form (ACA subsidy) that had delayed programming also was basically unchanged from the year before, and this form had not had a problem in previous years.
This was especially irritating as:
- the bug was not listed on their website, although it was admitted on a support call, and finally fixed 3 weeks later.
- The programming bug was regarding a form (1099-R for Inherited IRAs) that hadn't changed from the previous year.
- The form (ACA subsidy) that had delayed programming also was basically unchanged from the year before, and this form had not had a problem in previous years.
In spite of these issues I will still recommend the product for at least one more year. It is easy to use and accurate - once they fix the bugs and get the forms ready.
Pros: Easy to prepare
