I’ve been using H&R /lock software for quite a few years.
Always accurate and easy to use. This past year, however, the state version made some boo boos and the state tax office sent me the letter. You know, the letter. Not an audit but they spotted a few goofs and fixed them for me. Luckily I did not owe but still.

I used the iMac version. Would not upgrade from within the program; had to use a workaround every time. This same problem was present the previous year; never fixed. I discovered an error in a taxable income computation, and emailed to find out how to report the problem to software development. Apparently, there’s no way to do that. When I e-filed, the program said I had to update first, but when I tried to update, the program said no updates were available. I’ve used HRB tax software for decades, but the quality has gotten very poor in the last few years.
Cons: Time consuming, Hard to prepare
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
