It's a tax program. Cannot say it maximizes my refund because I always have to pay a couple hundred or get back a few hundred. All the tax programs are doing is preventing the IRS from making it easier to file. The state functions are marginal and you have to pay to file electronically so why bother with the software and mail them in.
Cons: Hard to import documents
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Purchased HR Deluxe three years straight and had great results. It's easy to use for MOST home users IF there's not extenuating inheritance or gifting circumstances etc.

First time used this pay for software since military stopped me from using HR block free. No problem with free military but now the IRS is holding my refund this year. IRS sent me a letter saying they needed me to prove it was really me. Sucks for me.
Pros: Easy to prepare, Easy to import documents
Cons: Doesn't maximize refund
