I like almost everything about HRBlock. It is perfect for my needs. However, half the time the software update does not complete the cycle. It takes multiple tries to get the update.

Your Alabama state tax does not work. It cannot handle retired military, social security which are not taxed in Alabama. Result is Alabama will not accept return due to your computations. Alabama states no tax return required.
Cons: Hard to prepare
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

2022 - Problems with connecting to Fidelity website to bring in transaction. Had to use another tax package.
2023 - PA Department of Revenue notified me I was missing Schedule A, B, and E. They do not print when you print the entire PA taxes for filing.
Could use more clarity when selling a home that has been used for rental/personal use.

I have been using this program for many years. It doesn't work well with some types of investing, such as passive limited partnerships, and if you have a lot of stock transactions. I end up entering almost all of that manually, so I spend more time trying to get everything correct and this greatly reduces the benefit.
