Preparation went well. 1st IRS suspected my identity might be false.. I went through ID.me. Then they put my return “under review” for 180 days and won’t say why. They say it’s NOT an audit, but they won’t release my rather large refund due. Have you ever heard of such a thing? My return is very simple and uses standard deductions. There’s really nothing to review. They say they have my 1099s and W-2. They refuse to tell me what they’re reviewing. They have hung up on me twice when I ask what they are reviewing. The Taxpayer Assistance help line says I don’t qualify for assistance - I have no emergency need for the large refund they are holding. HELP!
I have used this product since 1998. It is cost effective and so much better than doing it by hand. It doesn't change much from year to year which makes it easier to do my taxes each year. My only complaints are 1) that it does not allow multiple adjustments for a bond which means bond premium and accrued interest can't be done in a single entry forcing me to artificially break up a single entry into two entries, 2) the help system is useless forcing you to dig up IRS instructions to understand an entry whose description is not obvious.
Great product! Very user friendly, easy to navigate through the complex tax procedures. Product takes you step by step through each step, guiding you to make the correct entry and maximize your return.
