Th Block Software was great. The question and answer approach and I was able to complete both my Federal and State taxes in a timely manner.
Pros: Easy to prepare

I have used H&R Block Deluxe plus State every year for well over a decade. I have been generally happy with the product. My tax situation seems to change a bit every year on year, so it's very handy to have a product that keeps track of all the changes on my behalf. It also greatly simplifies filing, with faster refunds through electronic filing.
Cons -
Loses a lot of value with the service charge to eFile state taxes! I would much rather have one free State filing rather than all the extra Federal filings I don't need.

Compatibility - due to the proliferation of AI, I am migrating completely away from Windows and Apple - and know a lot of folks who are doing the same. So unless there is a Linux compatible (either native or verified under WINE environment) version coming up for 2025, my string of years with H&R Block has come to an end.
And even if it IS available, if there is any AI implementation within the product or it's development - I wouldn't touch it with someone else's 10 foot pole. I don't want that over-hyped and dangerous technology no anywhere near my financial information.

The fed stuff is good and helped me work my way through a lot of forms. State and local issues are mostly good, but you need to do your homework and verify everything. We have had to correct omissions and found a few bugs in the state packages.
