It's overall a good program. But the IRS has allowed taxpayers to summarize the sales on Form 8949, even when they have adjustments such as wash sales, since 2015. See the discussion of Code M in the Form 8949 instructions. The HRB program has no provision for Code M. Thus, a taxpayer who has for example, 10 stock sales, only one of which has a wash sale adjustment, has to enter 10 separate sales instead of simply entering totals.

I usually buy a later release but last year I bought an early release. It was buggy. One item was not released for an early filing. It had to do with taxes info on items for sales of stock. I didn't pay taxes and he block would claim I needed to identify the State ID payee. Other years, it wasn't a problem to leave it blank. I feel like I was testing it for you. Previous two years, I was not able to import a tax return. I had to do so with a backup pdf file. Other years, I could not install the PDF generator or reader.
Cons: Hard to prepare, Hard to import documents
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Last couple of years have had to wait on updates well past the date to start filing. Last year after over a month of waiting decided to print out the paperwork and file by mail because the software would not allow online filing.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
