This is my 6th year of using H&R Block Tax program. So I knew what I was getting into as far as Tax preparation goes. The only thing different this year from years past, Is I am now 75 yrs old and cant always remember where I stashed the previous years memory stick containing last years forms. Bravo! all I had to do is click on a box clearly marked on the opening screen, and somewhere is this electronic jungle, the Turbo Tax program within seconds found my forms and filled in required info. Now I felt like I was in control, I had minimized my use of swear words and felt a surge of confidence entering all the current year information. What is there left to say? . . . BRAVO H&R Tax program writers and assemblers.

Updating through the program did not work I had to download the updates directly.
My NY while was rejected never got a decent explanation from Block as to why just to print and mail
Though mailing the rejected return does make sense to me. Though I must admit I have been using the software for years without a problem like that.

The software works fine for doing the taxes. My problem is dealing with the upgrades and getting the state add-on. Every year for the last 5 or 6, I have needed to call in to get support to get the state version that doesn't require me to pay additional money. Also, the software update does not function properly and I need to reload the download from online to get the latest version.
Pros: Easy to prepare, Easy to import documents
Cons: Hard to prepare

not worth it anymore, gets worse every year. Sad

Terrible let down. After many years will be moving on. They don't support Virginia state well, errors of navigating and form completion. Worse, this year they stopped importing Merrill 1099 data without warning or explanation. Basic 1041 needs are met, but those can be met with free/online methods.
Cons: Time consuming, Hard to import documents
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
