I have not been able to e-file for 3 years with this program because of my agi which is off the irs web site and my last year return. I have not applied for social security, yet the program kept trying to make claim an amount

Short Put and Call Options

Put and Call options sold short that expire have no cost basis. The IRS suggest leaving the "Cost Basis line" blank. My broker (E*Trade at MorganStanley) leaves the line blank when it sends me my tax forms each year. Yet, H&R Block requires that I waste hours reviewing my return and putting a -0- in the blanks.
Cons: Time consuming, Hard to prepare
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Have been using it for the past 7-8 years. A few elements you should fix (hence the 4* rating).
1. Inclusion of Foreign Tax paid - documented from US Mutual Funds - requires nit-picky follow up to ensure it is fully considered and included in the tax due calculation.
2. Some of your data consistency checking is erroneous e.g., asking for state tax related-info when I'm a Texas resident (Texas doesn't have a local income tax)
3. Lack of visibility to breakdown between capital gains vs. income tax for mutual fund distributions
