I have used this software for over 20 years. Three years ago, I retired. The first two years since I added the pension and SSA to the process, I had to PAY Federal income tax. I ensured that I had sufficient funds withheld so I was confused. Last year, when I added the SSA and the refund disappeared, I backed up. The refund reappeared even as I went forward. Basically, I think I paid thousands in Fed income tax for 2020 and 2021 because of this glitch I found. I don't think I will use HR Block software in the future.
Cons: Doesn't maximize refund
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I’ve been using H&R Block Deluxe tax software for the last 25 years. Its performance and ease of use has been perfected in my opinion. From pre-order to electronic filing it makes doing your taxes easy and non stressful.

The Deluxe 2023 software is basically the same product as in previous years but this year's version had some annoying navigational quirks, not found in prior versions. I had difficulties pausing then moving between sections. It was especially annoying when I needed to print backup copies to submit with various medical/legal documents and I had to start at the very beginning and advance all the way to the end, through every section. I've used this product for 10+ years and could always just drop into each return near the end and. print .It's been a few months, but I seem to recall additional navigational issues when moving between different parts of the return. Weird and very annoying.
Pros: Easy to prepare, Maximizes refund
Cons: Time consuming
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
