I have used this software for years. 1. This year HR Block has not made it possible to download my tax information from Merrill Lynch. Other tax software has. Sadly I had already started my taxes when I discovered this. 2. Because to the snafu I tried to apply for an extension. This also did not work. I spent more than an hour getting it corrected.
Cons: Hard to import documents
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

While in general I like your software, I am legally blind and need the ability to change background and text colors in order to create better contrast

It would not fill and print a 1040-ES for next years estimated taxes. Other than that, it was a lot cheaper than turbo tax and just as good.

I've been a customer for more than 15 years, and I will continue in the future.
I like th program's pulling in last years items to go into the next years start of filing.
One problem that I have is related to the "Data Check". The check is wonderful, but there are times that I fix the problem, or respond that it is all right the way it is, or make a change on the spot, but it keeps coming back as a possible error every time that I do the final check.

My gazillionth year of using H&R Block. I am very pleased with it. In most every situation it clearly explains what (data) is needed and why. It walks my through the entries for my silent partnership in a straight forward manner.
A suggestion: I am new to RMDs world et al, and I think it could be streamlined a little. For instance, the program knows my birthday and my 1099-R's. Omitting rollovers, it could total relevant distributions for use in the RMD section. With my birth date, it could calculate the required RMD.

We have used H and R Block for several years. We love how it updates our new return and provides simple questions to answer. One flaw: The 'help' box is only for IRS questions; there is no help for the software and its processes.
