I have used HR Block for more than 20 years and I always had very good results. The 2023 tax software did not worked any good. I lost my daughter's taxes two times. I could not open or recover anything even thought I did save them everytime I needed to close the program. And I also lost my son's once. I had to redo from start and not close until I was done and printing copies for records. I am not sure if I will be buying software next year. I'll wait to see what you will do to convince me this won't happen again.
Pros: Easy to prepare, Easy to import documents
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I use it every year. Could be improved greatly by asking the simple question: Do you want to skip all the questions about ITEMIZING and just take the standard deduction? Tax prep time would be cut in half.

I have used the H&R BLOCK deluxe and state for many years. I believe its questions lead users to their maximum refund. I liked it better, however, when it allowed for free state returns for each of the five returns allowed with the purchase.
