The program did what it was supposed to do, but could have done it better, i.e. easier and/or more completely. Missing the state interview (or even the form) to calculate late penalties. Not the clearest on how to file a return after filing an extension. It could do better at pulling info from prior years returns in some cases.
From the aesthetic point of view, it really bugs me when the "next" button moves around on the page... I focused on the info not where you're hiding the button.

I would give the software 5 stars because I am very pleased with the overall results and support but deducted a star because I have never been able to get the auto fill feature for filling in previous years company, and other info to work. Nor can I download the info from my investments. Hasn't worked for me though I've tried for many years. So, I have to enter the info each year.

I've used H&R tax software for several years, since Taxact free started collecting data in the cloud. I prefer to download and store all my records on my own computer. Other than free e:file for fed, everything is under my own control. Much appreciated and will use it again 2024 as long as death doesn't supercede taxes. That much is certain.
