I have been using H & R Block to do my taxes for over 10 years and have been very satisfied with the software and answers to my questions when I had to contact a representative. I did have a small problem when it came to the question of whether I had taken enough from my IRA for the required RMD. Since the Software had the information that I did take out more than the required minimum distribution but it kept telling me there was a question in the area. The instructions on how to fill out this area were not clear. I solved that problem by checking the yes and no boxes in the same manner as I had on my previous year's return. I guess I'm wondering why you don't just ask two questions. 1) How much did you withdraw from your IRA? and 2) What was your RMD for the year? However my returns were accepted for Federal and CA State. By the way I am not fond of this survey format!

I have used the H&R Block software to do my federal and state taxes for more than three years. The process has been thorough and as simple as the tax system allows, and I have normally been able to complete it within a day. The reasonable cost of the software has been worth it, making preparing my returns many times easier than preparing the returns myself by hand, and gives me the confidence of being sure that no necessary data has been missed.
