Overall, the tax program was uncomplicated and easy to use. Electronic Filing was also uncomplicated. The program does not provide printable estimates for periodic payments of subsequent year's federal and state tax.

Federal great, State dangerous to your finances

This review is specifically for H&R Block Deluxe 2024 Plus State. The Federal Tax portion is fine, I like it, it's easy to use, and it's accurate. With investment information downloaded directly from the investment company, it makes investment income reporting easy. Without the State portion, Deluxe would have gotten five stars.
The State part (Maryland in this case) is atrociously bad. So bad, in fact, that resulting law suits might put you out of business. The state part claimed that I owed more than $1000 when, in fact, I had a small refund coming to me. The reason? It failed to exclude investment income from US Obligations from my Maryland taxable income. So purchase of Federal + State was not only a waste of money but could have cost me a great deal of money if I had not caught the error. I will never purchase Federal + State again. One strike and you're out!
