HR Block (Federal Version) 2024: Easy to Use

My go-to income tax software, year after year for a decade or more. Covers all the bases, doesn't cost the earth. If you have a pretty simple return, use this. The hardest part for me was waiting for my 1099-Rs, 1099-INT, and my 1099-SSA.
Pros: Easy to import documents, Fast
Cons: Time consuming

This the 3rd year that I have used H&R Block software for my taxes. For many years I did my own taxes, and taught myself how by reading publications and doing worksheets. Doing taxes back then would take me several days. My taxes now are simpler than in the past, since I don't have investments now and live in a state that does not have a state income tax. Using the H&R Block software enables me to do my taxes in only 2 to 3 hours, which is a great improvement. The e-file option allows me to submit my taxes without needing to buy special envelopes or make a trip to the post office. I must say, however, that having the previous knowledge of doing my own taxes taught me the terminology and to understand what it is that the H&R Block software is asking about and why. A less experienced user may find the software a somewhat challenging.
Pros: Maximizes refund

Ive used H&R Block Tax software for over 20 years and am totally satisfied with it. It is comprehensive, up to date, and easy to navigate. It carries over a most information that can be, saving me significant entry time and minimizes entry errors. I use both the Federal and State versions. Both 2024 tax year submissions were accepted quickly by the IRS and North Carolina.
