I switched from TurboTax this year. While for the most part, the transition was a good experience... there was one section while using the H & R software that the questions and options given were confusing and the "forced" answer that I was only allowed was not reassuring as to the outcome that was produced. I did file both federal and state returns, but I am not very confident that they are accurate.

Fed Great but KY State Govt Pensions NOT GOOD

Fed Deluxe is wonderful - five stars, but Kentucky State is a two star
Kentucky State is not so good. When you get to Govt Pensions and retirements it only asks for one entry. I have military and civil service. You should be asking me in the interview if I need to add a second Govt retirement in this section. I figured out to go to the Schedule P for Kentucky and manually add the second. Lots of fooling around to figure this out --- including the dropdown menu asking if I want to override. NOT USER FRIENDLY FOR GOVT RETIREMENTS AND PENSIONS! ! ! ! !

Like the program and the way it carries forward information from year to year. State e-filing is too expensive. For the second year in a row, automatic importing of 1099 forms from Fidelity did not work - major problem with the software.
