I have used H & R Block tax software for the last 25 years and have never been disappointed. I appreciate the available notes and audit guarantee provided. While the download version is less expensive than in store person to person returns, its ease of use and thoughtful questions maximize deductions and credits.
Pros: Easy to prepare, Maximizes refund, Fast
Cons: Hard to import documents

My first year with complaints. First time I ordered it - and paid for it - it wasn't available for download. I had to pay for it and order it a second time. Then I had to go through the credit card company to get back my pay for the first order. My wife has an IRA and just turned 65. The software kept insisting that she needed to do all kinds of research about people who MUST take a disbursement by the time they're 73. There was no way to just tell them that whole section was not applicable.
Cons: Hard to prepare
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
