Be careful of the Interview, it needs more work

Your rep did not know where to enter the access code (answer is "how do you want to fund " page). This is not obvious. If an early Roth IRA withdrawal is made, the interview doe not ask about "cost basis." Answer is form 8606, line 22 carries to Sch 1, line 4b. Assume primary taxpayer lives with income entirely in one state, spouse lives with income entirely in a different state. The Virginia state interview does not ask for VA income so must open the form and enter manually. In this situation, the Massachusetts state form counts VA income although not earned in MA.. MA also double enters MA rent. This means a MA paper filing is necessary. The MA program demands MFS but this leads to incorrect balance (same problem with 2023 program)
Cons: Hard to prepare
