Many years using H&R Block Deluxe Fed + State for Mac, this year I had to spend numerous hours with Support. First the Federal update file would execute and return me to a prompt to download the update again, an endless loop. Finally after completing Federal data it repeated prompted me to pay for my State download which is included in this product. Even after paying and installing, it did not recognize the state program and prompted me to again purchase and download and install the state program. After much effort with telephone support, I finally was able to complete my state return and file Fed and state. Actual tax return preparation went well, good product features, just a very frustrating installation and update experience.

Cons: Time consuming

I have been buying this product for many years and have been happy with it but for one item this year only. Section on home mortgage interest. My mortgage was sold to another in 2024 which left me with two 1098's. Box 2 asks for the Outstanding Mortage Principle. With two 1098's and two Outstanding Mortgage Principles the HRB program adds the two principles, effectively doubling my outstanding mortgage principle. Now fortunately they add up to less than 750K so it did not affect my refund. But it could for some.
Pros: Easy to prepare
Cons: Hard to import documents
