Seem to recall deluxe package provided state income tax with electronic filing as well. Paying the additional was a bit annoying. I chose to use HR rather than turbo which was being offered free through my fidelity account. Had I known this additional cost I might have consider turbo tax, I'll definitely look at this next year.
Pros: Easy to prepare
Cons: Time consuming

Very good. It does what it is suppose to and I have fairly complicated return. Sometimes the questions take too much time, but they are thorough. Once the return is done, moving around the software to recheck items or fill in missing information is a little awkward. I think there should be a worksheet that shows the calculation of the tax amount.
Pros: Easy to prepare, Easy to import documents
Cons: Time consuming

I have been using the "Deluxe plus State) version for many years (maybe 20?) and it has met my needs very well. Slightly disappointed this year - I needed the SSA Lump Sum calculation - but overall I have been very satisfied.

Disgusted that there's no Linux version. Appalled that they've officially dropped Windows 7 support. Irritated that I have to spin up a VM just to see my tax data. Used to be a big fan, not so much now.
