I've been using H&R Block Tax Software for more than 10 years and always exceeded my expectations. It's simple but a very powerful program. I have never had a tax rejection by the IRS since I started using the software. I highly recommend this software to anybody who's willing to try doing their own taxes instead of using expensive tax services. Thank you H&R Block.

Used it on PC for years and was satisfied. Not compatible with a Mac. If I quit the program very hard to open it again. Used to have a menu option to do updates, spent forever trying to find where to input my estimated tax payments….

Previous years were good. Not so much this year.

Lots of confusing directions forcing reviews and corrections of stuff without explanation and trip after trip through the whole federal return over and over and over until I would finally accept it. No clue as to it's accuracy after that. I would be surprised if it is accurate. This was primarily in the capital gains/losses/interest/investment area with a 1099. Clear as mud asking for answers with no clues about where to find them. You have to remember, most of us look at this stuff once a year because we are forced to do so. Lots of errors while importing old returns, lots of meaningless failures while trying to efile. The last few years were easy and clear to use. This year's software stinks. The complexity of my income sources has not changed at all, so I would conclude that the software is, at best, buggy.
Cons: Time consuming, Doesn't maximize refund, Hard to prepare, Hard to import documents
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
