We have used this software for many years now and are usually satisfied with it. However, this year my only negative comment is that the software let us request a check from Federal. We got a letter stating that checks are no longer an option for Federal. In looking into this, we found out this was in effect since September 2025! You would think with all the software updates to the program, it would have alerted us of this. Now, instead of giving the routine number and other bank account info for direct deposit, it is requiring a photo id and a mess of other info.
What a shame your software couldn’t let us know this simple fact!

I have used this software for many years. Now I have K-1 forms to input and this software does not seem to support them. Furthermore, the AI help interface is a waste of time. When asked specific questions, the only answer I would get is I cannot answer that question. Once it even asked if I wanted help with a certain subject, when I said yes, said it couldn't help with that question. I probably will use a different application next year.
Cons: Time consuming, Hard to prepare
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I had some difficulty handling US government parts of several mutual funds dividends as the % of government holdings remained as part of the total fund dividends. And the same problem with tax free parts of several mutual funds. Problem (may have been )In Chair, Not In Computer, (PICNIC) but I have not had this problem in previous years using H&R Software or may not have recognized it.
Cons: Doesn't maximize refund
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Federal E-file initially refused
on April 17, 2026

My federal income tax e-file was initially refused due to the previous year agi was incorrectly inputted by your software, even though I used HR Block Deluxe last year. If I didn't check my email I wouldn't have known. I had to resubmit my federal income tax return e-file after reviewing my last year e-file and overriding the AGI was suppose to input from my previous year return. I also had some issues with deductions with my income tax return as a rideshare driver.
