I am on automatic renewal and you did charge me for it in November and said I would get the code soon. I never got code and took me parts of two days to get it downloaded. The first day I called the number for help and all I could get was a recording and they kept saying the same thing over and over as I wanted to talk to a person, not something that couldn't help me. They hung up on me. I did get hold on another number but it was soft ware team and they were very nice and said that wasn't who I needed to talk to and transferred me to another person and they did get me where I could get on. I had to set up a different account as it kept coming up that they couldn't find my account. So I think I have an account but I got my taxes done and sent on their way. I hope I don't have any questions from my taxes as I don't have a clue who to get hold of.
Cons: Time consuming, Hard to prepare
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I have used the H&R Block Tax package for at least the past 10 years. I'm certain the content from prior tax years would link/load into other tax preparation packages, but I seriously don't see a reason to switch. I assume the consistent feel, usability, and function would be similar, yet, I'm comfortable with H&R Block.

I have purchased the deluxe program for many years and have experienced how easy it is to use. However, this year I had a problem with the way the program handled the RMD amount and the questions revolving this section of the program. Unfortunately, I didn't answer the question correctly because I was totally confused that I incorrectly filed my return. I have since received my refund, but it is short a little over $1000.00 and now I need to file an amended return in order to recoup this money from the error.
Pros: Maximizes refund

We bought the same software as last year which includes the state software. We filed both last year for what we paid. The software this has the same capabilities but we were required to pay an EXTRA $20 this year to file state. We didn't find this out until we got ready to file state. This is more than shrink-flation, it's effectively a bait & switch strategy to give the wonderful and talented HR Block company a 67% pay raise for the same software as last year.
Pros: Maximizes refund
Cons: Hard to import documents
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
