Mostly good, but there are problems.
First, navigation is difficult and unintuitive. There is no overall map you can use to move around. There is no clear indication of what has or has not been completed.
Second, the deduction for interest from federal agencies is mentioned, but no reminder is given when the numbers are added. I had to remember this and do it retroactively, once I finally found where to do it, because it was not in the normal string of actions.
Third, the uploading of data from W-2 or 1099 forms did not work at first. I had to manually fill in this info. Then finally the upload worked (for some but not all forms), but when I did this, everything was duplicated! When I realized this I had to delete one block of data. Fortunately, i noticed that my refund suddenly turned into a large negative number, and then I deduced what had happened.
Finally, my state tax was taken from my bank account immediately, but my large refund from the IRS is still pending after a week. I do not blame H&R for this, it is most likely due to Trump and Musk firing a large number of IRS employees,

I've used H&R Block software for several years and have been pleased with the ease of use and reliability. I would give it 5 stars except for one glitch this year; I could not download tax data from Merrill Lynch accounts this year. It had been a problem in the past, but it wouldn't work for 2024 tax year. I had to enter the data manually (which is kind of a pain and invites input errors. I called Merrill Lynch and they said everything was okay at their end. I called Block and their only suggested fix was to enter the data manually. That kind of defeats the purpose of using the software. The download capability was a key factor in purchasing the software.
Pros: Easy to prepare
Cons: Hard to import documents
I would recommend this to a friend!

I bought mine from Newegg this tax year Dec 2024). I have used the HRB Deluxe the past several. It is easy to use and stays updated. My state (MA) was refunded in two days and the Fed in les than a week.
