Have been using the program for years. The main reason is that I am familiar with the interface. Only peeve I have involves the menu to go to a form.. Why does the program have to close open menus to go to a form. You would think that this inefficacy would be corrected.

It works. The software walks you through entry of your tax information in a straight forward manner. You don't have to be tax knowledgeable to use this software. If you get all your tax forms together, the software will walk you through the entry process and give you a good finished product (Hopefully a refund).

I have used Block tax preparation software for more than a decade. Previously I used TurboTax and Tax Act, and I briefly worked as a tax preparer for TurboTax. In general I find Block's software to be more user-friendly and as accurate as its competitors. Deluxe plus state doesn't address every issue on my somewhat complicated return, but it does the job generally.. This year I rightfully found one part of the interview to be unclear because it tracked the confusing language of the IRS tax form in question without linking to the IRS instructions for the form. I called Block and received some assistance in navigating the interview. I remember the old days when twice I consulted accounting firms, at great cost, to help with difficult tax returns. For the low cost of Block's software, Block is a real bargain. It makes self-preparation of tax returns almost fun.
Pros: Easy to prepare, Easy to import documents

I have been using your software for years and am pleased with it. This year I could not efile because form 8962 is not part of the interview. I am directed to enter data into fields on the form but the software doesn't allow data to be entered manually except if it's overridden. Thus it prevents e filing. Please fix this next year. This is the first time I've used H&R Block instead of TurboTax software. I like the Block program better because of its clear helpful explanations and ease of use. The only negative is that one part of the program wasn't ready, and I had to wait some days before being able to complete my Federal and State returns.

I have used H&R Block Tax Software for years and have never had any issues. This year I discovered I forgot an item and had already filed my return. I was thinking that having to do an Amended Return might be a royal pain, but the software guided me through the process. I have never had to do an Amended Return in the past so I was relieved to have the software provide me with good instructions and assistance.
Cons: Time consuming, Doesn't maximize refund, Hard to prepare, Hard to import documents
