This is the fifth year I have used this software and it is MUCH worse than the first four times. Poor and confusing instructions, Tried to charge a penalty for withdrawing MORE than than the MRD from 457B retirement account, Reliance on quoting sections from the tax code instead of explaining them. This was probably my final year to use this product unless there is some evidence of a return to what it had been in years past. Navigation sometimes seemed to loop back to questions I had already completed.
Cons: Time consuming, Hard to prepare, Hard to import documents
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

My only negative is the 20 dollar charge to file the state return. You can file 5 federals for free it just does not make sense

In over 15 years of using H&R Block Deluxe + State, I have never had a bad experience with the software. My returns (including this year's) have always been accepted by both Federal and Louisiana governments. In the last 8 years (since I retired), filing has always been just a matter of waiting for the last of the 1099's to come in, then take less than an hour to enter all my data.
Pros: Easy to prepare, Maximizes refund, Fast
