I have used Tax Cut every year for the past several years (I use it so consistently that I have forgotten how long it's been). I always feel like the tax advice built into the program is effective and understandable. It is also pretty easy to put it aside and start again on any given return, as long as you have a modicum of tax knowledge.

We've used H&R Block for years. It is so easy to use and I love that you can import the previous year's return. The software can walk you through buying/selling a home, having kids, rentals, charitable donations etc. I've always felt very confident doing taxes with H&R Block.

For the most part, program works well. However, I had to override pervious year AGI. Now program will not pass Accuracy review. Although Accuracy review tells me the field is overridden, there is no way to tell the program "This is OK, accept the overridden field.

I have been using HR Block for literally decades. It makes it very easy year-to-year with import. I've watched my partner using Turbotax and find the HR Block interface superior. I would like an ability to more easily get summaries of important numbers (income, IRA distributions, including RMD) so I could double check the bottom lines of my entries. Another improvement would be the Back button allowing one to go back one screen - it often takes you back to beginning of the section.
