Maryland has a "two income subtraction" that asks the joint filer to break up joint income by spouse. This could easily be done by the software since its interview provides it with all the necessary information. Unfortunately, the tax payer has to do this tedious calculation from scratch.

I am a long time user of the H&R Block Deluxe software. I have generally found it easy to use. I trust it to accurately assist in filing my return. My lack of a fifth star is because; 1. The user interface has never been updated. It is still annoying that there is zero consistency to where the next/done buttons are located. It is irritating to not have the navigation buttons stay in the same place., and 2. The help/instructions/explanations are not always great forcing me to visit the IRS site to get more detailed information.
But I am happy with the software. It has helped make this annual burden easier to tackle.
I would recommend this to a friend!
