I have used H&R software for about 10 years and had almost no issues with it. It is intuitive and easy to fill out and to submit. The only issue I have ever had was last year I did my dad’s taxes which was divided between two states. I pirchased both state programs. Colorado didn’t agree with the results the software gave and I couldn’t ever figure out if the issue was mine or the states, so I paid it. Otherwise I have been very satisfied.

I have been using H&R block for several years now without the hassle of leaving my home where all my tax documents are and has been very user friendly. I would like to see the fee for filing state taxes dropped as I feel I bought the deluxe software it should come with that but, overall satisfied.

Hard to see data on actual IRS from during data entry. Even clicking on the whole form doesn't take you there. Thinking the data is not part of the form but strictly a internal data point. Frustrating.
Also cannot clear data warnings. Example I had a W2 for less than $100 so no taxes were withheld. H&R software did not like that. Neither clearing the box or entering 0 would clear the warning. Again frustrating.

H&R Block proceesing of RMDs has an expensive bug
on March 12, 2025

The processing of RMDs in the Federal return has a bug which incorrectly assesses a penalty, typically thousands of dollars, where there should be none. This bug impacts everyone with an RMD and should have been caught in testing.
