This is the first year that I ran into an issue. The "interview" was apparently unclear about my having taken RMDs. An apparent incorrect answer on my part showed me owing the IRS over $13,000 in penalties. After wading through every individual form, I found an incorrectly checked box.
Cons: Time consuming
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Been using H&R Block Tax Software for decades. It is easy to use and I trust it to complete my tax return correctly and to provide me all the tax deductions I am authorized. I have never had a tax submission returned for incomplete data.

I bought the Deluxe software which includes the state return. When I went to file the state return it asked for payment. I had to print and mail my state return.

I had a problem with deleting a property tax deduction entry. Spent a couple of hours trying to no avail. the software kept giving me the credit on the Illinois return, but since that credit was already used on my daughter's return, I needed to remove it so that I didn't end up claiming it twice.
I got some advise from one of your agents, re-installed the software, cleared all cookies, ect.. It did not help. I finally figured it out on my own when I checked actual forms for the Illinois return and found that the property tax info was still listed, deleted it and ti corrected the problem.
