Many years ago, I used the TaxCut software. Then HR bought it and now they call it HRBlock. It is the only tax software I have used to do my taxes. However, The TaxCut version and the older versions of the HRBlock used to be more helpful and guide me in a friendly way to understand what I am doing. May be, the current software still does but I do not know how. It is not as friendly as the old versions. I just answer questions and let it do the job. My taxes are simple, and one can do it online for free. I will probably keep using it because it is inexpensive and helps to file online free; and I have no interest in learning new tax software.
Pros: Easy to prepare, Easy to import documents
I would recommend this to a friend!

Simple to use, great if using it year-after-year because it'll import all the previous year's data. I used to use the other popular program until one year it said I owed more on the bargain element of ESPP stock sale than the sale itself, even after re-doing it multiple times! Only complaint is the price increase over last year's program.

Actually I’m having trouble on this software. It’s not really user friendly for me some of the terminology is very confusing I have to file again since I moved out of New York mid 2024 and now living in Washington state
Pros: Fast
Cons: Time consuming, Hard to prepare
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
