I have been using the H&R Block Deluxe program to file my taxes for many years. The program is just excellent & always updates for any tax changes. The ability to start from the beginning, step-by-step, or jump to any topic is very good. The Federal & State tax summary is very helpful, but the comparison from current year to last year is my favorite feature. You can easily find any mistakes by using that.

The DO NOT support the Accurate Calculations Guarantee. I submit documents and get no responsse. Agents hang up when you try to get answers on the phone. The agent in person new less about taxes than me. He was rude and disrespectful. And, not helpful. I have a casse number, but when you call you don't any support.
Cons: Doesn't maximize refund
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Dependable software that helps makes taxes easier

I switched to H&R Block over a decade ago and the only issue I don't like is the software won't let me look at past year returns without that years software on the computer. this year I had a new issue. I completed both my return and my mother's return and then for both of them I was taken to a page where I had to enter the dates I lived where I live. Couldn't this have been transferred from the questions at the beginning where I told them I was at the same address and job the entire tax year. Other than that I like the process and that I can print out the return so I can look at the actual forms one last time before I submit it.
Pros: Easy to prepare
Cons: Hard to import documents

Ive been using this software for about 5 years. It does most things well. There are areas that are confusing. Not happy that numbers dont transfer to local tax forms.
