Support for error correction is unacceptable. online help is well intentioned but poorly trained and supported. I spent two hours working online for something that a well trained person would have spotted in a minute.

The product has flaws as to how it processes estimated payments to the state. I entered all payments I made, including the one made in January, checking the 4th quarter box. The review told me I could not make a payment in 2025. And this was not carried into the state portion of the program. After hours of trying, the only work around was to delete the 4th quarter payment and double the 3rd quarter payment.
Pros: Maximizes refund
Cons: Time consuming

I found the software a mixed bag. It completed my taxes okay, but got into a circular loop when doing my mother's taxes, whom passed away last year. One firm which it recognized was needed it would not complete; so I had to complete that by hand and print and mail the return manually too.
Pros: Easy to import documents
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I have used this program for many years. I am confident that my returns are perfect. I have never had any contact from IRS for any sort of issue. I am comfortable with this program. It is easy to navigate and if you are unsure, you can question within the program. If that is not enough explanation, a click will take you to the Block site for further clarification, and if needed, a click from there will take you to the IRS page that applies.
Pros: Easy to prepare, Maximizes refund, Easy to import documents, Fast

Deceptive pricing left a bad taste in my mouth. Filing Fed "free" and then charging for the filing when attaching it to state return...as if this would cost any more. Please!

Have used H&R Block and its predecessor product, Taxcut, for at least 15 years. I've valued its easy questionnaire-based format, simple data entry and accurate capture of necessary data. Have especially valued how it calcuates numbers without my having to manually use my calcuator or spreadsheet. My one issue is the restricted number of entries available for charitable contributions. I donate to a lot of entities, and I have to consolidate recipients on several lines in order to capture all donations. I appreciate the electronic submission capability, which results in refunds within 2-3 weeks, if one is due.
