I've used this software for 30 some years and have usually been pleased with it. This year for some reason my 1099 MISC figures didn't flow into the Schedule E, though it has in the past. I made two calls to support and no one could tell me why it wasn't working. After some deleting and trying again if finally worked, but I wasted a lot of time getting there. I wish you had a better way to report bugs. An I hope you fix it before next year!

My second year using it. Generally easy to use and follow directions. Some frustrating things....having to review every one of 750 short term and long term investments. Got the dreaded exclamation point warning and had to click through every one of them and compare the entries against the paper 1099 to clear the warning. None of them required any changes Rules and procedures for reporting charitable donation of securities was difficult. Same with donated items. Perhaps run some Beta tests with first time users to help see issues through their perspective in order to fix problem areas.

Cons: Time consuming, Hard to import documents

This program is pretty straight forward and asks questions specific to both people in a joint return. There are still some confusing issues but getting to the final return is relatively easy. Some of the last minute review of issues are confusing and some take time to resolve. After using a popular tax software two years ago which didn't address income specifically from both of us we ended up with interest due because I couldn't get the software to resolve my questions. So we've been with H&R the last two years.
