I have been using H&R Block's Tax Program for over a decade. It's easy to use and easy to send off the Federal Tax Forms digitally. I don't pay extra for the State Tax forms, but instead print and mail them. I like having that option.

The user interface is one of the worst I have seen in modern software products. It obviously dates from decades ago!
It is clumsy and unnecessarily difficult to use. You should hire new developers who have talent and experience in modern user interface design and do a total bottom-up redesign.
Cons: Time consuming, Hard to prepare

“E-File Rejected Due to AGI Issue Forced Mailing o

I only had one issue and that was in the completion in about to transmit to the IRS the AGI for me and my wife are the same and the software did not accept that AGI It did not give an error code it just not accepted the AGI. Instead of doing an E – file. I had to print and mail both my State and federal taxes

I previously used TurboTax but, this year’s product wouldn’t install on Windows 10. I only use my laptop for doing taxes, so I didn’t want to have to upgrade it. H&R Block software installed on my laptop and even pulled in data from last year’s TurboTax return.
The product is fast and easy to use. I like the interface and yhe ability to check the status of your return in the software.

Had some problems with the IRA contribution section. I had originally input a contribution for myself to see how much the effect on our taxes would be. When I went back and clicked ‘no’, that I wouldn’t be making a contribution, it kept the recorded contribution until I deleted it manually. That shouldn’t work like that. If I click ‘no’ it should automatically zero out the contribution.
I wanted to print the first few pages of my 1040 to compare to the prior year but no matter what I did the column on the far right with the all important amounts was cut off.
There were also some minor navigation issues.
