I used TT in the past and it was much more comprehensive and fun to work with. H&R program had all these quirks and required tedious work arounds… and I am not sure if I am done.
Pros: Easy to import documents
Cons: Time consuming
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Not sure I didn’t buy earlier but could not find evidence so bought again (maybe). Owed a bunch. Never sure I completely trust the program never confident. This year I’m going to take it to a cpa and check it’s been done right and get advice

Help w/ MD state Decoupling for bonus depreciation

Wish H & R Block would simplify the de-coupling bonus depreciation on the MD state tax return vs Federal. Been 30 years & no idea how to calculate & no support from software.

Bought when it became available last December, as I needed to do a quick take on what my final estimated tax payment would need to be for 2025. Procrastinator that I am, I wound up not completing the returns (included a state return) until April 14. I've used H&R Block tax software every year now since 2008 and find it very good, about as easy to use as can be expected considering the complexity of the tax code. Not particularly happy with the additional charge for filing state electronically (so I don't) or the double-charging for filing an extension then the final.
Pros: Easy to prepare, Easy to import documents
