This is the first time I had to do taxes for both NJ and PA. I found the program quite confusing and unnecessary complicated. For example, at some point I was asked for income that was not received in each state. And then at a later stage I was asked for income that was received in each state. Eventually I got through it, but it was not easy.
Federal program was OK.

Pros: Easy to import documents
Cons: Time consuming, Hard to prepare
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I found out the hard way, that you can’t send your taxes unless you have the update. Well, the update didn’t work and I tried three times to send them and you charged me all three times for the state. I’ll dispute the charge, but that is a serious Technological error.

I needed to correct an AGI figure from my 2023 federal tax form to calculate a penalty fee if any for underpayment in 2024. The H&R Block software would not let me override the original figure entered resulting in my having to file a paper copy of my 2024 1040SR.
