I've been using Block for years and generally been at least satisfied. It seems that there is always an item or two that the software doesn't really explain. This year it was worse. My return passed the accuracy check but when I went to file electronically it flagged an error that blocked my filing. I called a Block support person. He tried but explained that he could really only tell me where to enter items. He explained that I actually needed a tax advisor but I hadn't paid enough to qualify for that level of support. I finally went to an outside accountant for my answer. Before I prepare next years returns, I'll look for other alternatives than Block.
Cons: Hard to prepare
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
